Mark 6:26-28
International Standard Version

26 The king was deeply saddened, yet because of his oaths and his guests he was reluctant to refuse her. 27 So without delay the king sent a soldier and ordered him to bring John’s[a] head. The soldier[b] went and beheaded him in prison. 28 Then he brought John’s[c] head on a platter and gave it to the girl, and the girl gave it to her mother.
